ABOUT RONNIE'S MÉLANGE
I started Ronnie's Mélange with one goal in mind: to make my passion and skills for curating tablescapes and knowledge that I learn along the way easily accessible and doable by anyone interested in curating a beautiful table.
Like so many people around the world, during the COVID-19 pandemic I had spurts of feeling down, and sad about the news stories of sickness and death that bombarded us just about every day--all while I constantly worried about the health of my family and friends. I needed a way to distract myself--something to bring my spirits up, and then I recalled, that as a child, distinctly remembering dinner time, there were no disturbances--it was simply being at the table with my parents and sisters and how much love I felt and the freedom to be myself and to talk about anything. I loved the intimacy, the conversation, the connection made between loved ones and as an eight year old, I even wrote in my diary, that I still have today, that being at the table, and having a meal, was my favorite thing to do and today, it is still my favorite thing to do.
When my husband and I decided to have a smaller than usual Thanksgiving gathering, I decided to delve completely into planning out the details for the table that would ensure our guests felt authentically themselves, but more importantly I wanted them to forget any worries they may have had, that could only be compounded by the pandemic--even if just for an hour. I also wanted my husband and I to feel that sense of relief as well. In my process I discovered my passion for creating a table that makes each guest feel special through installing a melange of detailed, tailored elements. So, while my husband got to work in the kitchen, cooking a fabulous 5 course meal, yes, five courses, I prepared the details of the table decor, with a goal of inspiring our guests to gather and talk at the dining table for hours, during one of the most special rituals for families and friends throughout the world.
I’m here to guide you every step of the way and provide you with the tools needed to accomplish your tablescape goals for any occasion. I'm grateful for the growing number of readers who share their own experiences, and encourage others to do the same. Take a look at the latest posts below and get inspired to explore new ideas. Happy curating!
